San Juan Ridge, in the in the 1870s, was a world-renowned center of hydrological engineering, gold mining innovations and legal controversies regarding the environment. After a docile century of logging, ranching and limited gold mining, new issues arose in the 1970s regarding owner-built housing, homesteading, attempts to resume mining, new perspectives on schooling, and environmental advocacy. Throughout its tumultuous history the San Juan Ridge has always been a center of culture and creativity. Come join us for an evening of history, entertainment and insights.
