Poetry into song: The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock

This Thursday at the North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center, please come join us for a Special Performance by Quantum.
“I am very excited to announce that for my next show, I will be performing a poem by T. S. Eliot, “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock,” published in 1915. It was Eliot’s first major work and made him a star and is considered the poem which launched the modern era of poetry. The poem is 131 lines long, and I have made it into 8 separate songs. I will be playing on my piano keyboard and singing and also talking about the poem and its significance.

The poem is dark! which is why I loved it as a teenager. However, my understanding of the poem has changed completely in getting ready for this show, and I am looking forward to sharing my new found understanding of the poem.

I hope you can come!” ~Quantum
